| Der '''Liberator''' wurde von [[John Ernst Worrell Keely]] ab [[Wikipedia:1885|1885]] entwickelt und diente der Freisetzung der von ihm entdeckten [[Äther]]kraft (''etheric force''). Er löste damit den von ihm ab etwa [[Wikipedia:1874|1874]] zu dem selben Zweck gebauten, aber wesentlich massiveren [[Generator (Keely)|Generator]] ab. Der Liberator benötigte zudem kein Wasser, sondern nur mehr Luft, um den Ätherdampf (''etheric vapor'') zum Antrieb seiner Maschinen zu entwickeln, wovon sich Keely eine bessere Handhabbarkeit der Ätherkraft versprach.
