Der Binomialkoeffizient, kurz auch „n über k“ genannt, ist eine mathematische Funktion, mit der sich die Koeffizienten der Potenzen eines Binoms direkt ohne Ausmultiplizieren berechnen lassen.

Für natürliche Exponenten ergibt sich damit für beliebige reelle oder komplexe Zahlen der binomische Lehrsatz in folgender Form:
